This is a Full-Time positioncommencing with the start of the 2012-2013 school year. Along with administrative responsibilities this position may include the coordination of the school?s student support services. Approximately 70% of this position requires teaching at the elementary level.
Caslan School has a student population of approximately 100 from ECS to Grade 8. The community of Caslan is located 45 km Southwest of the Town of Lac La Biche. The majority of students attending are from the Buffalo Lake M?tis Settlement.
Qualifications:
? Masters program in administration, curriculum or leadership; completed or currently enrolled
? Possess or eligible for Alberta Teacher Certification.
? Commitment to lifelong learning and personal development.
? Demonstrated record of improving student achievement.
? Excellent skills as a teacher and instructional leader at school / division level.
? The ability to work effectively with diverse students and parent groups.
? Be willing to work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community.
? Have a working knowledge of, different learning styles, delivery of IPP?s, research-based teaching strategies and site-based management.
? Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
The following would be an asset:
? Previous administrative experience
? Special Education background
? Experience with literacy and reading intervention strategies
? Experience teaching at the elementary level
